I thought maybe I would do a journal and test the waters first to see if there was any interest in what I'm considering,a little background first.My oldest daughter was diagnosed with arthritis when she was young and recently we have been somewhat more involved with the Arthritis Foundation here where we live.My daughter has been to camp the last two summer's and last week we went to a dinner hosted by the foundation.They do some good things for the kid's and depend a lot on fundraisers and donations for research and the means to do extra for the children who are diagnosed.
Which brings me to what I'm considering,while at the dinner/fundraiser they auctioned off several items one of which was a sculpture that went for $450.If I had known I would have donated one of my pictures(not that it do as well)but would have been interesting to see what it would have went for?So I thought if anybody was interested in donating either an original or a signed print and there was enough interest I would contact the Arthritis Foundation here in our state and try to set up an auction or possibly an online event to bid on the pieces of art.
All proceeds would go to the Arthritis Foundation and I would contact each person that donates the amount their piece brought.Oils,watercolors,cp's,pastels and of course graphite would be acceptable mediums.Looking for quality pieces of work though this would be kind of a major event,the dinner was jacket and tie!
It is for a good cause and tax deductible,also you could possibly gauge what your work would go for.Anybody interested just note me,no time frame set yet or details just looking to see if this sparks interest or would be something that would work?
